Also, some of my imports are not in proper albums, hanging in the timeline view without any tag or category, which makes them lost in time.
Many photos also makes browsing unpleasant, besides taking too much storage. However, the damage is done, during 2004–2016 there are lots of albums that needed to be cleaned.

To overcome my bad habit, I started taking RAW photos, and edit them with Pixelmator Pro and save them to Photos afterwards. I am not a professional photographer, however I like nice pictures. I tend to take a lot of photos, and get lazy and import all of them to Photos which makes gigantic photos. In 2004, I had a 128 MB SD-Card, and now I have multiple 32GB cards when I travel. I imported all my digital photos since 2004 and have approximately 170 GB of Photos. Google Photos could recognize very complex queries such as VW Golf with Black Dog almost perfectly, and (a little Skynet level creepy), it used more battery and needed me to delete the actual photos from the devices, whereas Photos just handles everything gracefully, from Apple Watch to TV, it works great in the Apple ecosystem.
I was once a heavy user of Google Photos on Android, but when I moved to iPhone, the Google Photos d id not work as well native Photos application.
